The beginning of Wild Atlantic Wall Arts...
As long as I know, I was always interested in arts and crafts… I love DIY projects.. I love painting … painting walls – it relaxes me 😀 As I mentioned in my bio I like volunteering – I usually offer to make posters, ads for various local fundraisers / events because that’s what I like to do. I like to design, put together posters, flyers etc.. I am doing that now for about 5 years…
Anyway a few years ago.. in Summer 2015 My girls were invited to a Birthday Party to one of our neighbours’s daughters 1st Birthday.. To be honest I didn’t know what to buy, I didn’t have a lot of time to go shopping… so I decided I will make up a few Birth Stats for the little girl… as I knew they like home-made gifts and all.. So I started to make one… and made a few different designs .. The feedback was very positive from all.. so on and off from that time I started to make hand-made DIY keepsakes for friends, for their new arrivals, new home etc… From Hand -drawn designs topped up with buttons.. (Botton Art-button families) to Personalised Framed Designs…
I am a stay at home mom for 3 beautiful children (2 girls and a little boy 7-5-3 ) making all these Personalised Frames in my ‘free time’ .. between school runs ..I really love making them …It’s a challenge!.. So Thank you for keeping me busy.. I love it. And all the positive feedback I am getting from all over Ireland .. and from Hungary (where I am from) gives me joy and happiness… Thank you.. now let’s go back designing more personalised frames for you … and your loved ones.
Pancake Tuesday Recipe
My little ones were so excited about today. Today is Pancake Tuesday!! Yay. They were looking forward this day! Their teacher promised some pancakes for today to decorate. They suggested.. we should have pancake for breakfast, lunch and for dinner!!
The first thing in the morning was to make the pancakes! So I started.. and made a big batch of pancakes ( Plenty for a family of 5)
This recipe is so easy to make and it always works. I just put together the ingredients, mix (whisk) and ready to fry…
They go well with maple syrup, honey, jam and our speciality… Pure berries and a dollop of Glenisk Vanilla yoghurt.. Its such a great combo, I love it… Sweet and little bitter flavour makes such a great combination. We love it… It goes well with a nice cup of coffee too … yum.
So what you need is:
- a bowl or a bigger measuring jug
- frying pan
- 2 tbs (table spoon) of oil (I used cooking olive oil) -you will need more to fry the pancakes)
- little butter (to mix with the oil to fry)
- 2 eggs (Thanks Claire 🙂 )
- 3 cups of buttermilk
- 3 cups of self-raising flour
- 1 tsp (tea spoon) sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence (not necessary )
I usually put the wet ingredients into the bowl first then add the dry ones. Use the whisker to mix well – to get a smooth thick batter.
Place the frying on the medium heat and a small amount of oil and butter and wait until sizzling. Now you add the batter in batches..
Leave them to cook until you see some air bubbles (see picture above) – then its time to turn.. fry them until they are golden in colour – then they are down. (3 -4 minutes or as long as you need )
Serve the pancakes with some cooked berry sauce ( ( usually buy frozen berries -cook them – and blend them – for fussy eaters)
and top it up with Glenisk (or other) Vanilla yoghurt – They are delicious. Bon Appétit!
